Sanofi entered a multi-year strategic research collaboration with Insilico Medicine (announced November 8, 2022) to deploy Insilico's end-to-end Pharma.AI platform to advance drug candidates against up to six novel targets. Insilico received $21.5M in upfront and target-nomination fees and is eligible for up to $1.2B in research, development and sales milestones plus royalties. On October 30, 2024, Insilico announced the collaboration's first disclosed milestone: an AI-facilitated lead with first-in-class potential against a previously "undruggable" transcription factor target in oncology, generated using Insilico's Chemistry42 engine. Insilico elected to bring that program in-house following a reprioritization by Sanofi, while the companies continue to collaborate on other targets using Insilico's AI discovery tools.
