Sanofi made a $180M equity investment in Owkin and entered a three-year strategic collaboration in four cancer types (NSCLC, TNBC, mesothelioma, multiple myeloma) with $90M in research payments plus milestones. The deal leverages Owkin's federated learning AI for biomarker discovery and clinical trial design. The collaboration was executed and has since deepened: in March 2024 the partners expanded it into AI-driven drug positioning across Sanofi's immunology pipeline, and on June 5, 2026 they announced a new five-year agreement under which Owkin builds bespoke AI-agent biopharma tools for Sanofi powered by Owkin's K Pro AI-scientist platform (financial terms of the 2024 and 2026 expansions undisclosed).
