In August 2022, Poseida Therapeutics and Roche entered a strategic global collaboration on allogeneic (off-the-shelf) CAR-T therapies for hematologic malignancies including multiple myeloma and B-cell lymphomas. Roche paid $110M upfront (plus a ~$50M equity investment) and committed up to ~$6B in development, regulatory and commercial milestones, with tiered royalties. Lead programs were P-BCMA-ALLO1 (allogeneic BCMA CAR-T) and P-CD19CD20-ALLO1. The partnership matured and expanded through 2024, with Poseida receiving additional milestone payments. On November 26, 2024 Roche moved to acquire Poseida outright for $9.00/share (~$1.0B) plus a non-tradeable CVR of up to $4.00/share (total up to ~$1.5B); the acquisition closed January 8, 2025 via Blue Giant Acquisition Corp., delisting Poseida from Nasdaq and folding the collaboration and its allogeneic CAR-T platform fully into Roche.
