Thymmune's platform converts human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) into thymic cells that mature in vivo to restore healthy T-cell function. Lead candidate THY-100 is in preclinical development for congenital athymia, an ultra-rare, life-threatening condition in which infants are born without a functional thymus. The platform complements United Therapeutics' organ-supply mission and its UThymoKidney program.
Congenital athymia is an ultra-rare, life-threatening condition in which infants are born without a functional thymus, leaving them unable to produce normal T cells. Thymmune's iPSC-derived thymic cells are designed to mature in vivo and restore T-cell function. THY-100 is the preclinical lead; the platform also targets post-transplant tolerance, immunodeficiencies, and autoimmune disease.
