Sandoz and Samsung Bioepis entered a licence, development and commercialization agreement covering up to five next-generation biosimilar candidates. Sandoz receives exclusive rights to commercialize the biosimilars globally excluding China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and the Republic of Korea, while Samsung Bioepis is responsible for development, manufacturing and regulatory submissions in key markets. The first candidate licensed under the agreement is SB36, a pre-clinical biosimilar candidate referencing Takeda's Entyvio (vedolizumab). Financial terms were not disclosed. The two companies previously partnered in September 2023 on Pyzchiva/SB17, a biosimilar to Johnson & Johnson's Stelara (ustekinumab).
