Pfizer entered an exclusive collaboration and license agreement with Chongqing Yaopharma (YaoPharma), a controlling subsidiary of Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd., for YP05002, an oral small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist, and related oral small-molecule GLP-1 assets. Pfizer receives an exclusive worldwide license to develop, manufacture and commercialize YP05002, with plans for combination studies with other Pfizer pipeline compounds. Pfizer pays USD 150 million upfront with up to USD 1.935 billion in development, regulatory and sales milestones plus tiered royalties.
