On March 25, 2024, Nuvation Bio agreed to acquire AnHeart Therapeutics in an all-stock transaction. The structure was chosen to preserve Nuvation Bio's cash balance and fund development of both the acquired and existing pipeline without a near-term capital raise. The acquisition added taletrectinib, a next-generation ROS1 inhibitor with Breakthrough Therapy designations then completing two pivotal studies in ROS1-positive non-small cell lung cancer, and safusidenib, a mutant IDH1 inhibitor in a global Phase 2 study in grade 2 and 3 IDH1-mutant glioma. Nuvation Bio described the transaction as transforming it into a late-stage global oncology company with the potential to become a commercial organisation by the end of 2025. Closing was expected in Q2 2024, subject to AnHeart shareholder approval and customary conditions. No transaction value was disclosed.
