Novo Nordisk entered a global license and collaboration agreement with Swedish drug-delivery company Nanexa AB for exclusive access to Nanexa's PharmaShell technology, which coats individual drug particles with an ultra-thin inorganic layer to extend release. Novo Nordisk will apply the platform to up to five development programs targeting monthly and quarterly dosing of injectable treatments for obesity, type 2 diabetes and other cardiometabolic conditions. Total consideration is up to EUR 1.165 billion including upfront and milestone payments, plus low single-digit royalties on net sales. Novo Nordisk leads development and commercialization.
