Eli Lilly agreed to acquire Swiss bacterial-vaccine developer LimmaTech Biologics for up to $780M (cash upfront plus clinical/regulatory milestones). Lead program LTB-SA7 is in Phase 1 for Staphylococcus aureus surgical-site infection prevention; broader pipeline targets antimicrobial-resistant pathogens including Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis and Group B Streptococcus. Part of Lilly's three-deal infectious-disease vaccine push announced May 26.
