Eli Lilly obtained an exclusive worldwide license and collaboration agreement with Incyte for INCB28050 (baricitinib), an oral JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor, and certain follow-on compounds for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Incyte received $90 million upfront and was eligible for up to $665 million in development, regulatory, and commercialization milestones plus tiered double-digit royalties on global sales. Baricitinib was subsequently approved as Olumiant for rheumatoid arthritis (2017 EU, 2018 US), atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, and COVID-19 hospitalization. Incyte retained option to co-promote in the US.
