Pharma BD Deal Intelligence
Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited and Boehringer Ingelheim entered into an option and licence agreement covering six preclinical oncology programmes built on antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) and T-cell engager (TCE) technologies, announced 4 November 2026. Sino Biopharmaceutical receives $358 million in upfront and near-term payments and is eligible for up to $7 billion in milestones plus tiered royalties up to double digits, for a total potential deal value of approximately $7.36 billion. Five of the six programmes originate from Sino Biopharmaceutical subsidiary LaNova Medicines and one from Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical. Sino Biopharmaceutical will lead early development; after agreed clinical milestones Boehringer may exercise options for exclusive rights to four programmes outside mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and to the remaining two programmes worldwide. The agreement deepens a Boehringer-LaNova relationship that began in 2024. Sino Biopharmaceutical shares rose about 5% in Hong Kong on the announcement. STRUCTURE NOTE: this is an option deal - the headline $7.36B is contingent on option exercise and subsequent milestones, and no programme-level allocation was disclosed.
