Sobi acquired Arthrosi Therapeutics for $950M upfront and up to $550M in clinical/regulatory/sales milestones (total up to $1.5B); the acquisition closed in February 2026. The deal added pozdeutinurad (AR882), a once-daily oral URAT1 inhibitor for progressive and tophaceous gout, studied in two pivotal global Phase 3 trials, REDUCE 1 and REDUCE 2. On 21 May 2026, Sobi reported positive topline results from REDUCE 2 (n=811): both doses met the primary endpoint of serum urate <6 mg/dL at month 6 (75 mg 69.2% vs 8.1% placebo, p<0.0001; 50 mg 56.6% vs 8.1%, p<0.0001), with a safety profile consistent with prior studies. REDUCE 1 is fully enrolled with data expected in H2 2026, and detailed REDUCE 2 results are slated for a scientific congress in Q4 2026. The positive first pivotal readout supports the original deal thesis of a differentiated, next-generation uricosuric for patients inadequately controlled on first-line urate-lowering therapy.
