SK Biopharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. / 1ST Biotherapeutics, Inc.

2026 · Licensing/Option · $315M · Complete

1ST Biotherapeutics (1STBIO) granted SK Biopharmaceuticals an exclusive global license to 1ST-104, a preclinical oral small-molecule dual inhibitor of LRRK2 and c-Abl for Parkinson's disease. 1STBIO receives $1.8 million upfront and is eligible for up to $314.8 million in total consideration, including a near-term $1.8 million candidate-selection milestone and further development, regulatory and sales milestones, plus tiered royalties on global net sales. SK Biopharmaceuticals also made a $2.2 million strategic equity investment in 1STBIO. 1ST-104 uses a Type 2 binding mode, differentiating it from conventional Type 1 LRRK2 inhibitors, and has shown target selectivity and blood-brain-barrier permeability in preclinical studies.

This deal is too recent to grade. Critic Score and Outcome Score are assigned after the announcement-week coverage settles and, for Outcome, after the 5-year post-close assessment window opens — expected 2031 at the earliest for this deal, once/if it closes.
