The structure is an option fee plus license payment: Fosun pays AriBio a USD 60 million option fee and may decide, within 90 days of receiving topline Phase 3 data, whether to exercise. On exercise Fosun would pay up to a further USD 180 million in upfront and regulatory milestone payments, taking the disclosed total to up to USD 240 million. Rights on exercise cover global markets excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau, ten Southeast Asian countries and certain other territories.
