On September 3, 2026, Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals licensed European rights to bofanglutide (GZR18), a GLP-1 receptor agonist dosed subcutaneously once every two weeks, to Italy's Menarini Group. The license covers 39 countries: the 27 EU member states plus the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and the Balkans. Gan & Lee receives EUR 62 million (approx. US$72 million) upfront, up to EUR 664 million (approx. US$771 million) in milestones, and double-digit royalties on net sales, for an aggregate disclosed value of up to EUR 726 million excluding royalties. Bofanglutide's pivotal Phase 3 study in China and Phase 2 study in the United States for weight management in adults with obesity or overweight both met their primary endpoints.
