MediGene AG acquired NeuroVir Therapeutics Inc. in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $77 million, adding NeuroVir's oncolytic herpes simplex virus (HSV) virotherapy platform — including NV-1020 for hepatic metastases of colorectal cancer — and US clinical-development operations to a portfolio previously concentrated in cardiology and dermatology. The deal closed January 16, 2001.
