Jaguar LAA, Inc., a newly formed independent company created in partnership with Sante Ventures and members of the Laminar management team, acquired assets related to the Laminar program from Johnson & Johnson. The Laminar program is a catheter-based technology designed to close and eliminate the left atrial appendage in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation using rotational motion while leaving minimal device material exposed inside the left atrium. Sante Ventures led the formation and financing of Jaguar alongside management and other investors, and Jaguar intends to advance the program through its next stages of development and regulatory review. The transaction marks J&J's exit from the LAA closure market; financial terms were not disclosed.
