IQVIA and Medera announced a collaboration on August 4, 2026 to advance Medera's cardiac gene therapy programs and human-based drug discovery platforms. IQVIA will provide regulatory strategy and clinical trial execution support - including patient recruitment, data quality and regulatory filings for expedited FDA designations - for the FDA-cleared, first-in-human AAV-based gene therapy programs of Medera's Sardocor unit, which are in trials for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy cardiomyopathy. The agreement also covers expansion of Novoheart's mini-Heart engineered human cardiac tissue platform - already used to support FDA IND and Fast Track designations - into additional organ systems for drug discovery and safety testing under the FDA Modernization Act 2.0. No financial terms were disclosed.
