GNI Group agreed to acquire 100 percent of the shares of Ayumi Pharmaceutical Holdings from a shareholder group led by Blackstone, valuing Ayumi at approximately JPY 44.8 billion and making it a wholly owned GNI subsidiary. Ayumi is a Japanese specialty pharmaceutical company with leading positions in pain management and rheumatology; its flagship product Calonal (acetaminophen) holds more than 80 percent of Japan's domestic acetaminophen market. GNI said the deal materially expands its Japanese commercial presence and creates a large-scale platform for introducing innovative therapies, biosimilars and internally developed products, guiding to combined fiscal 2026 revenue of approximately JPY 65.2 billion. The acquisition completed on 2026-07-01. USD-equivalent deal value is left NULL because no announcement-date exchange rate was sourced.
