Pharma BD Deal Intelligence
GE HealthCare agreed to acquire SOFIE Biosciences, a PET radiopharmaceutical contract manufacturer, from private equity firm Trilantic North America for $945 million in cash. SOFIE operates a US network of 15 CMO sites running 21 cyclotrons plus a theranostics-focused CDMO site, and brings US rights to FAPI-74, a Phase III PET radiotracer for pan-cancer imaging. SOFIE will join GE HealthCare's Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) segment on closing, which the company expects in the first half of 2027. The stated rationale is establishing a final-mile footprint in time-critical PET radiopharmaceutical distribution and participating in radiopharma markets beyond GE HealthCare's own product portfolio.
