Effective August 20, 2026, Kiora Pharmaceuticals entered into an Exclusive License and Development Agreement with Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical Corporation covering KIO-301, Kiora's molecular photoswitch product candidate. Kiora granted CKD an exclusive, sublicensable license to develop, manufacture, commercialize and seek regulatory approval for the product in South Korea for retinitis pigmentosa and other ophthalmic diseases. Kiora receives a $1 million upfront payment and is eligible for development and regulatory milestone payments plus royalties on future South Korean sales; the aggregate milestone value was not disclosed. Kiora expects CKD to coordinate with its other regional partners, Laboratoires Thea and Senju Pharmaceutical, on a single global Phase 3 trial of KIO-301 in retinitis pigmentosa.
