Lakefront Biotherapeutics NV (formerly Galapagos NV) completed the sale of its early-stage cell therapy pipeline to Armed Cell Therapeutics BV, a Belgium-based biotech founded by Paul Stoffels, John Mellors and Peter Verhaeghe. Armed Cell paid EUR 8 million upfront and Lakefront is eligible for up to $230 million in regulatory and commercial milestone payments plus a low single-digit royalty. The transferred preclinical assets are multi-targeting and armed CAR-T constructs designed to improve CAR-T potency and persistence and to prevent treatment resistance in hematological and solid tumors; the programs originate from AboundBio technology acquired in 2022.
