The transaction brings Alcon ENCELTO (revakinagene taroretcel-lwey), the first and only FDA-approved treatment for idiopathic Macular Telangiectasia Type 2 (MacTel), together with Neurotech's encapsulated cell therapy platform. ENCELTO is a surgically implanted encapsulated cell therapy that continuously delivers recombinant human ciliary neurotrophic factor (rhCNTF) into the eye to reduce photoreceptor loss.
