Advent International, through its acquisition vehicle Al Sirona (Luxembourg) Acquisition S.à r.l., acquired generics maker Zentiva from Sanofi for an enterprise value of EUR 1.9 billion (approximately $2.35 billion). The all-cash private-equity transaction carved out Sanofi's European generics business into a standalone platform. Exclusive negotiations were announced in April 2018, the sale-and-purchase agreement was concluded on June 28, 2018, and the transaction completed effective September 30, 2018.
