Nxera Pharma granted AbbVie an exclusive global licence to develop and commercialise NXE0033744, an investigational oral EP4 receptor agonist, in inflammatory bowel disease, announced 4 November 2026. Nxera receives $100 million upfront and is eligible for up to $1.37 billion in development and commercial milestone payments plus tiered royalties on net sales, for a total potential deal value of approximately $1.47 billion. NXE0033744 was discovered using Nxera's NxWave structure-based drug discovery platform and is designed to activate EP4 receptors locally in the gut to reduce inflammation and support healing of the intestinal lining while limiting systemic exposure.
