AbbVie in-licensed ex-China rights to Haisco's two non-opioid NaV1.8 inhibitors (HSK55718 IV; HSK51155 oral preclinical) for $30M upfront, up to $715M in development/regulatory/commercial milestones, and tiered high single-digit royalties. AbbVie funds R&D through clinical proof of concept; Haisco retains mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. As of the deal (10 Apr 2026) HSK55718 was in Phase 1; by mid-2026 it had advanced to Phase 2 in China, with two postoperative-pain studies registered (NCT07551739, orthopedic surgery, HSK55718 vs morphine + placebo, Haisco-sponsored; NCT07491146, abdominal surgery, investigator-initiated). Positions AbbVie against Vertex's Journavx (suzetrigine) in the post-opioid acute pain market. Deal remains pending as of June 2026.
